Making Marx

 

 

These pots are made using black clay. They are fired in an electric kiln and then either a glaze or gold lustre detail is added. They are then fired again for a second time.  

 

These peices have been described as 'volcanic' which I think captures the strong contrast in both colour and texture between the glazed and unglazed surfaces.
