Making Marx

Raku originated in Japan and was traditionally used in tea ceremonies.

 

These pieces are first bisque fired in an eletric kiln and then glazed before a second firing in a raku kiln.

 

The pieces are removed from the kiln whilst hot and placed either into water, sawdust bins, or left to cool in the open depending on the desired effect.
